What is Restylane?

Restylane is a clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. Restylane is considered a durable cosmetic filler that provides dramatic outcomes for the improvement of the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and folds. Restylane is a non-surgical solution to soften facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, plump up lips, and fill in scars.

What can I expect from a Restylane treatment?

Restylane is injected in small amounts with a tiny needle in order to fill lines, wrinkles, creases, or folds. It is commonly injected into the lip region to achieve amplitude, which creates an overall youthful appearance. This treatment can be performed at any time; no tests are necessary prior to treatment. The results of the treatment are evident immediately.

How long will the Restylane injection last?

The treatment will last from anywhere between 6 months to 1 year, depending on the patients age, skin type and lifestyle. Once a year Touch-up treatments may be necessary to achieve desired results.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Immediately following the procedure, patients may experience mild redness, swelling or slight tenderness at the injection site. The discomfort is temporary, disappearing after several hours or within the next two days. The patient may resume normal daily activities immediately following the treatment. Results will be seen instantly after treatment.
